Notes before you start

  • Work in a continuous spiral; do not join rounds. Move the marker up each round.

  7. Insert safety eyes between Rnds 8 and 9, about 5 stitches apart.

  3. Embroider a small V-shaped nose between the eyes and three whiskers on each side.
  4. Weave in all ends inside the body.

Is this cat safe for babies?

Safety eyes can be pulled out by determined toddlers. For children under 3, embroider the eyes with yarn instead.

Why can I see stuffing between my stitches?

Your stitches are too loose. Use a smaller hook, and insert the hook under both loops for each single crochet.
