About this bundle

Elegant wraps from the 1950s and 1960s with their original fashion photographs, modern yarn weights and a starting hook tied to the printed gauge.

Frequently asked questions

Where do these patterns come from?

Every pattern is transcribed from a real crochet leaflet or book published by companies such as The Spool Cotton Company and The American Thread Company between the 1940s and 1960s, now in the public domain in the United States. Each pattern names its original publication, and the original photograph is included.

What did you change?

The designs are unchanged. We rewrote the instructions in current US abbreviations, split long paragraphs into numbered rows and rounds, matched vintage yarns and threads to today's weights, estimated yardage and suggested a starting hook tied to the printed gauge. Every change is listed in a modernisation note on the pattern page.

Have the patterns been tested?

These are first editions: the transcriptions are checked against the original text, and test-crocheting is in progress. Anything the original leaves unclear is marked "Check" rather than guessed. Corrections from testing are added to your download free, for life.

How do I get my files?

Straight after payment you get a download page and an email with a personal link. Files are print-ready PDFs sized for US Letter that also print on A4.

Can I sell what I make?

Yes. Sell finished items made from the patterns. The PDF files themselves may not be shared or resold.

What if it's not for me?

Email us within 30 days for a full refund — no questions asked.
