What does tr mean in crochet?
Yarn over twice, insert the hook, pull up a loop, then yarn over and pull through two loops three times. In UK patterns, tr means the US double crochet.

How to work tr (treble crochet)
- Yo twice.
- Insert the hook into the fifth chain from the hook, or into the next stitch.
- Yo and pull up a loop — 4 loops on hook.
- Yo and pull through 2 loops — 3 loops on hook.
- Yo and pull through 2 loops — 2 loops on hook.
- Yo and pull through the last 2 loops — 1 tr made.
- Ch 4 to turn at the start of the next row.

Side 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next 2 ch, tr in next 2 ch, dc in next 2 ch, hdc in next ch, 3 sc in last ch. (9 sts plus 3 sc at the tip)
Into the ring work: ch 3, 3 tr, 3 dc, ch 1, 1 tr, ch 1, 3 dc, 3 tr, ch 3, sl st in ring. (6 tr and 6 dc forming the lobes, 1 tr forming the point)
Rnd 1: Ch 4 (counts as tr), 15 tr in ring. Join with sl st to 4th ch of ch-4.
